  1. Meet Cooper!

    Hello everyone, it’s your favorite Executive Canine Officer, Monti! I have been enjoying my extended vacation with my sisters in Tennessee,  but I’m still working remote! In between chasing squirrels and barking at chipmunks, I’m trying to help my friends at  Partnership of Animal Welfare (PAW) find homes for some very worthy dogs!  Without further ado, I would like you to meet my newest friend Cooper!

    About Cooper

    Cooper is a one-year old, male Labrador that has been described as handsome and playful. Our friends at PAW say Cooper is friendly with other dogs and is fine with kids. He may not be experienced at leash walking, but we know he would be a great companion for your family.

  2. Fall, Family, Friends, Festivals!

    The leaves haven’t begun to turn, but September and pumpkin spice lattes have arrived! Fall is a great time to be in Washington, DC with events every weekend to keep your schedule full. Here are some of our favorites!

     H Street Festival

     

    Spend Saturday, September 16th with family and friends at the H Street Festival. This annual festival is one of the most attended in the city and is on every local’s fall calendar There will plenty of entertainment including music, dancing, children activities, fashion, art, poetry and more.

    Bond Estates Dinner at Plume

    Rumor has there are still a few seats available for the exclusive wine dinner featuring the 'Grand Crus' of BOND hosted by Director Scott Gould. Paired with Plume’s Michelin starred Chef, Ralf Schlegel’s decadent menu and plated on French porcelain from Bernardaud, the night begins with a toast courtesy of Krug. The reception and dinner will be held on Wednesday, September 20th at 6:30 PM. This promises to be a night to be savored and seats are extremely limited; reserve your spot today!

    Taste of Georgetown

    Calling all foodies! This DC annual event is just for you! The Taste of Georgetown is on September 24th at 11:00 AM and takes place on K Street NW by the Georgetown Waterfront. This daylong event features 30 of the neighborhood’s best restaurants. Taste of Georgetown began in 1993 to benefit Georgetown Ministry Center’s mission to support the homeless.     Hi everyone, it’s me… Monti! I hope everyone is having a great summer. I’m still enjoying quality time with my siblings, but already planning my fall in Washington, DC;  I have not forgotten my role as Executive Canine Officer while I working on my special project!     Elaine is one-year old, 58 lb Rottweiler that came to PAW from a local shelter, where she was picked up as a stray. She is very friendly to people and other dogs she meets along her daily walks, a real sweetie!

    On Monday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m., the National Memorial Day Parade features marching bands, floats, performers and veterans, down Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets. This parade honors those who have served or presently serve in the U.S. military. Get there early so you can get the best view!

  9. Spring Into A Friendship With Suzy

    Hi there everybody! It’s your favorite Executive Canine Officer, Monti! I’ve really been enjoying my time with my siblings and working on my next project up in Tennessee, but I do miss my co workers back in Washington, DC. So much has been happening while I’ve been gone, including my very exciting feature in Peoples Magazine One Hotel With Pets So You Never Have To Travel Without An Animal Again !It reminded me of my responsibility to make sure every lost dog finds a friendly home by the end of the year.  With that being said, Allow me to introduce one of my closest pals Suzy.

     

    About Suzy

    Suzy is a 16 lb mini-beagle who is turning two soon. After her owners passed away, she was welcomed to the Partnership of Animal Welfare with open arms.

    Our friends at PAW say Suzy is very friendly with dogs and people, especially children.  She would love nothing more than a home with a loving family that will enjoy exercise and playtime with her.

    We can’t believe that it’s already spring! There are a number of celebrations that are happening this season in Washington, DC. We’re thrilled there is still time to plan a visit for Easter and what better way to celebrate than a weekend at The Jefferson!

    Easter at The National Zoo

    There couldn’t be a more perfect time to visit the Smithsonian National Zoo! On Monday, April 17th enjoy special animal demonstrations, and participate in the Easter egg hunt. The hunt begins at around 10:00 am so don’t be late!
